A Turtle’s Tribute:

Bill was born July 29, 1936 in Brownfield, Texas to Roy M & Elizabeth Downing Herod. He graduated from Brownfield High School, Baylor University and Baylor Dental College.

He served in the United State Air Force in Washington State and Italy for four years.

Bill practiced dentistry from 1965 until 1980 when he became a Dental Consultant for Aetna until his retirement in June of 1996.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dallas. In addition, he was a member of the Chorale for ten years. He first performed with the Chorale in “20’s – 40’s – 60’s – POP!” in June 1989 at the Jewish community Center of Dallas, Texas.

Bill died at home on February 25, 2001. Services were held on Wednesday February 28, 2001 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. He was interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

He is survived by an aunt, uncle cousins and friends.

Bill Herod was raised in Brownfield Texas. He graduated form Baylor University and Baylor Dental College. He practiced dentistry from 1965 until 1980 when he became a dental consultant for Aetna Insurance, until his retirement in June 1996. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dallas. In addition he was a member of the Turtle Creek Chorale for ten years.
