A Turtle’s Tribute:

A Turtle’s History

“Kasper,” as he was known, is one of the rare persons memorialized here who never got the chance to perform with the Turtle Creek Chorale, which he joined mid-season 2009-2010.

He rehearsed many long hours for three different concerts, often traveling to both the Sammons Center on Tuesdays and to Grace United Methodist Church on Sundays via public transportation, not an easy proposition considering he was often in his motorized chair.

Unfortunately, Kasper, was either too weak or hospitalized when concert dates came around. Yet we honor him for his tenacity and dedication; he is our brother in song.

I was Kasper’s big buddy and have very fond memories of him. He always arrived at rehearsals ahead of time and smiling. He had such a beautiful spirit and outlook. He worked diligently to learn his music and was determined to sing with us on stage; sadly he never did.

I had the utmost admiration for him … what he endured to just live life was more than I think I ever could have done. While his legagy with the Turtle Creek Chorale is short lived and light he left me with loving his soul and wanting to emulate his spirit and tenacity.
