Cotton, Gregory Marshall Greg Cotton, 61, died on July 17, 2013.

Born in Wichita, KS, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi
and the University of New Orleans. While in New Orleans, he studied voice and appeared with the New Orleans Opera, Summer Pops, and gave recitals and theatrical presentations at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre and
Tulane Summer Lyric Theater.

A Dallas resident since 1979, he worked in wholesale fabric home furnishings sales and went on to manage established and respected showrooms until his retirement in 1999. After retiring, he remained an enthusiastic student of the art of interior design and decoration until the end of his life.

Greg was an accomplished singer; he was a proud member of the Turtle Creek Chorale, joining with about 30 men in 1980 and participating in the Emmy-award winning documentary “After Goodbye: An AIDS Story”. He also sang in the chorus of the Dallas Opera, The Lyric Opera of Dallas and the Oratorio Choir at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his life partner of a million years, Derek Vanlandingham, whose constant love,encouragement and devotion always amazed and humbled him. Also treasuring his memory are his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Hal Taylor of Slidell, LA, his cherished brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Sheryl Cotton of Goddard, KS, and his four awesome nephews: J.J Taylor and Chase, Bryce and Clay Cotton.

A memorial service will beheld August 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church,8011 Douglas Ave., Dallas, TX. Memorials may be made to the Music Department at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church
