Edmondson, Joel Chan Joel Chan Edmondson, born Dec. 17, 1935 in Comanche, TX died December 27, 2013.

He was the son of Bart Edmondson and Tressie Denny, both of Comanche, now deceased.

He is survived by his husband of 26 years, John Sobieski; former wife and friend Eleanor Edmondson of Odessa, TX; daughter Robin Weinrich of Flower Mound, TX; former son-in-law Darryl Weinrich and grandchildren Michael and Regan all of Plano, TX; sister Anita Hererra of Mansfield, TX. Chan and Eleanor shared a lifelong passion for genealogy.

Chan and John wrote 13 books using genealogical data from the Revolutionary War period. Chan was an elementary school teacher for 30 years before working in the Genealogy Department of the Dallas Public Library. The public is invited to a memorial ceremony at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 9 at Vickery Towers, 5619 Belmont Ave., Dallas.
