A Turtle’s History
Quinn Boardman joined the Turtle Creek Chorale as a Tenor II at the start of its first
complete season on Aug. 1, 1980.
His first performance was in “Turtle Creek Chorale in
Concert” on Oct. 4, 1980 at Caruth Auditorium on the SMU campus, which was the first
formal concert of the then new organization.
He sang in the next two concerts of that
season including the three-venue “An Evening of Music for Christmas” in December and the
March production of “Music for Men’s Voices and Organ” at First Presbyterian Church of
Dallas, which was his last performance with the TCC.
Quinn was a graduate of Dawson High School, ‘74 in Welch,TX where he was a choir
member for four years as well as a winner in the state and regional UIL solo & ensemble
contests. He went on to Baylor University, ’79, Waco, TX where he was a
Marketing/Business major and a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.
