A Turtle’s Tribute:

Thomas Aquinas Bonifanti was a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania where he was born in 1945. He moved to Dallas in 1976.

Tom was ordained a priest in 1970 and served for six years at churches in South Carolina.

Upon his move to Dallas, he began working in the hotel and retail industry. In 1988 he became a member of the clergy at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Tom also volunteered with the AIDS/Arms Network, and the Nelson-Tebedo Clinic of the AIDS Resource Center.

He was a charter member of the Chorale.

Tom died on March 2, 1995 at the Horizon Specialty Hospital. Services were held at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Dallas.

He is survived by his father, Frank W. Bonifanti of Gulf Port, Florida; two sisters, Diane T. Bonifanti of Morris Plains, New Jersey, and Judy Bonifanti of Denville, New Jersey; and two brothers, Michael F. Bonifanti of New York City, and Nick Bonifanti of Villerica, Massachusetts.
